 Founders Day Dinner

Just a reminder that reservations should be made soon for the Feb. 15 Founder’s Day Dinner at PNC Park.  Please send your $75 check by Monday, Feb. 5 to: Ron Demay, 1031 Sarvis Drive, Bethel Park, PA 15102. Please include your year of initiation.

This year’s event at PNC’s exclusive Montecristo Club commemorates the 155th anniversary of the founding of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.   The Montecristo Club, which opened last year, is located on the Pittsburgh Baseball Club Level (PBC) on the first-base side of the field, accessed from General Robinson Street.   The complete invitation from the Pittsburgh Alumni Association is on the PA Alpha website, www.phikappapsialpha.com.

This year we are establishing a Phi Kappa Psi Hall of Fame. The inductees are brothers who have demonstrated the professionalism and ideals learned as a Phi Psi brother. The active alumni inductees will be present at the dinner.

The initial inductees are:

Posthumous

bullet William H. Letterman and Charles P.T. Moore -- co-founders of Phi Kappa Psi, Pennsylvania Alpha, at Jefferson College in Canonsburg, Pa. in 1852.
bullet Bert A. Smith, Nebraska Alpha -- founder of Pennsylvania Nu, educator
bullet Raymond P. Shafer, Pennsylvania Beta, businessman and Governor of Pennsylvania

Active Alumni

·        Woodrow D. Wollesen , Pennsylvania Alpha, founder and chairman of Execunet, Inc., attorney, businessman and Senior Olympics Gold Medal winner

·        Kenneth L. Urish , Pennsylvania Lambda, founder and managing partner of Urish Popeck & Co., LLC, nationally known accountant and chairman of the Audit Committee of BlackRock Liquidity Funds

Also in attendance will be: Shawn Collinsworth, National Executive Director of Phi Kappa Psi, and Will Haskett, National Director of Alumni Services.

I hope that you will join us to help recognize Brother Woody’s induction.

Also, the Steering Committee of the PA Alpha Alumni Association will be available to discuss the latest developments concerning the future of the current undergrad chapter at W&J.

It will be a fun evening!
